According to a report from analysts IDC, Apple and Google continue to dominate the market for mobile operating systems - 96.3% sold for 2014 smartphones running iOS or Android. 


While the share of Apple's devices is 14.8%, and the remaining 81.5% are devices with the operating system from Google. But despite the rather impressive advantage of Android-smartphone, Apple gets more profit from the sale of their products. According to the report Strategy Analytics, in the fourth quarter of 2014 Apple retained the 88.7% operating profit of the entire market.


    "The profit of the smartphone market in the fourth quarter of 2014 increased by 31% compared to the previous year and amounted to $ 21.2 billion, compared with $ 16.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2013. The share of Android-smartphone manufacturers fell a record low share of profit of 11% , whereas last year it was 29%. Apple increased its share from last year's 71% to 89%, also a record for the market. "
